Silk Scarf Portuguese communities

This project was inspired by the rich culture of Portuguese communities around the world. From South America to Africa and Macau in Asia, I conducted in-depth contextual research to explore the unique influences, traditions, and artistic expressions that emerged from these connections.Drawing from contextual and scenic research, I translated historical and cultural elements into a visually compelling design, blending motifs, colours, and patterns that reflect the fusion of Portuguese heritage with local influences. The final result was a series of satin silk scarf designs, where the fluidity of the fabric enhanced the intricate details and vibrant storytelling within each piece.

A project that was also a collaborative effort, as I worked alongside other talented artists to bring the designs to life through a carefully curated photoshoot. Together, we crafted a visual narrative that highlighted the movement and cultural depth of the scarves, ensuring that every element from styling to photography reflected the essence of the project.

The style of print used in this collection falls under conversational prints, a category often on trend in the fashion world for its ability to tell a story through illustration and pattern. These prints are celebrated for their unique, narrative-driven approach, making them a perfect fit for statement fashion pieces like silk scarves.
